Iverson a goner by pre-season?

Recently, I have been checkin out the Iverson hunt. This has been really scrappy with almost all teams going for him. Some did not get involved for Salary Cap was an issue. But Iverson is desperately being shopped around...Have Toronto pick him up.....doubtful to happen but it is fun to think about...

REmember the crazy rumour with Allen Iverson for Vince Carter a while ago. Good memories.

Chamberlain 06-09-2006 09:51 PM

I remember those. As much as I disrespect Vince, I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now.

I would love to see Iverson come to Toronto but there are factors. One would be that he wouldn't want to come here and two, he would cost to much.

AI not a good fit in TO, he needs his 25-30 shots a game. BOSH, CV3 will not get much touches, fat contract and attitude

T-Low 06-11-2006 12:17 PM

You also have to remember, he has increased on bringing down the shots. He is bringing in the assists now. but that doesn't mellow the fact down that he shoots to much, I agree. But at least he hits a lot of them. He brings the double team, and passes off to the open man. He is also the fastest man in the league. So there are many pro's and con's you would have to look at.

Iverson is still my fav player in the leauge but think about it ..if Iverson was to come here wed b wasting a pick for the reason philly wants to get rid of him ..Iverson is gettin there in age and ya he would b a great addition to T.o but it wouldnt b a long term future deal....plus Bosh would b playing 2nd fiddle.

Iverson wouldn't be a good fit for Toronto. He's a guy that needs and wants the ball 85% of the time. He also needs like 30-40 shots a game.

Paul Pierce or Ray Allen wold be good fits.

Bourne 06-12-2006 03:07 PM

Ray Allen WOULD be a much better fit you're right, but does a rebuilding team want his large contract?

Dr.Funk 06-12-2006 03:09 PM

Were done rebuilding. Were in the improving stage now.

Bourne 06-12-2006 03:11 PM

Not really. We still have the number one pick. There is the offseason. If you ask me, since we will get near the playoffs next near (not so great lottery pick), we don't start the improving stage until the trade deadline next year.
