No-USA

Lets say for some reason U.S.A can't compete in the 2008 Bejing olympics, who do you see winning and why?

I see Spain because they have Both the Gasol Brothers, Juan Carlos Navarro, and Jose Calderon. This is an awesome mix of great nba players. The only team in my opinion that could maybe beat them is Argentina.

Re: No-USA

Greece- Papaloukos in the back court and they have the size in the post to give team usa problems

Brazil- Great athletes, Tiago Splitter in the post will cause problems but the team is always poorly organized

Lithuania- could get lucky shooting 3's and has the front court to keep team usa honest

It's my honest opinion that team usa's front court makes them vulnerable, the euroleague game improved dramatically from two years ago and even a team with Bryant and James needs a complete plan that is well executed to win

Yeah I agree somewhat but I really think they are ready and focused this year.

So are other teams. USA isn't the only one focused, and whether they are playing good or not, every team will play all out against USA, it's just the way it is. Whether USA plays or not, I see Spain, Lithuania, and Argentina as the top 3, not sure in what order. If Ginobili doesn't play, team USA would make the top 3. If USA does't bring Chandler and Howard, and Ginobili doesn't go, I see an Athens qualifier taking a spot there, possibly Croatia or Greece, maybe Slovenia, or even Brazil.

Honest, I think more of those guys if they won but I wouldn't think less of them if they didn't. It's different today, good teams are going to lose some games.

Yeah its good you think that but people who call themselfs "basketball fans" (even though they only watch the finals and in 3 weeks will say 'So Davis and the Warriors look great this season!') will talk smack about USA being a huge dissapointment having all those all stars.

The media bothers me because most of them only copy press releases and don't do any investigating. It may take a few months or years but eventually the truth comes out.
