Which makes them vulnerable. Not just to hacking, but crashes all together.

I just don't think this technology is around the corner like some assume.

Apple can't even put out an iPhone update without it ****ing up everyone's phones. But UPS is going to update their driverless vehicles.
so what we got going on right now is closed to the outside world to prevent hacking. everything is hard wired and connected via ethernet. heck, we don't even offload via wifi, we hook up a fiber cable. it's a sealed environment to prevent unauthorized access.
