Default Long-time Notre Dame announcer retires

"There are grandchildren to spoil, a golf game to furbish, but very little bitterness for Jack Lorri to metabolize this summer after his radio play-by-play run with Notre Dame basketball ended Wednesday after 38 years. "Change is not necessarily good or bad," Lorri said from his home in Elkhart, "but is inevitable." The 70-year-old Lorri's retirement was a choice, but the option to return in his longtime capacity next season was not. He said Scott Correira, general manager for Notre Dame Sports Properties, offered Lorri a chance to do pregame, halftime and postgame features for the ND radio network." South Bend Tribune
