PITTSBURGH (Reuters) - Injured Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not start and is unlikely to play against the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday's key AFC North game, the Steelers announced Saturday.
Dennis Dixon, a second-year pro who has thrown just one NFL pass, will get the start, the Steelers said on their website. Tyler Palko will back up Dixon with Roethlisberger the No. 3 quarterback. He would not be eligible to play against the Ravens unless both Dixon and Palko were hurt.
Roethlisberger was injured when he took a blow to the head in last week's overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Steelers just shouldn't allow him to play at all. Head injuries are not something you take a chance with. Things are not looking good for the Steelers play-off hopes.
