Why should Cincy play their starters and expose play schemes and give the Jets the opportunity to counter and make adjustments in the game that really matters?
That rule only applies to baseball. NFL teams that are in the same division can play teams in the Wildcard game(Steelers/Browns played in 2002). As for the game itself, the Bengals need to and will play to win. A win clinches them the third seed. They would not see the Patriots until the AFC Championship, but if they did play, I'm sure they would prefer to play in Cincinnati.
