Re: Amar'e is out indefinitely
The Knicks' season got even crazier Monday when the team announced that forward Amar'e Stoudemire will be out "indefinitely" after an MRI discovered a bulging disc in his back.
The news is a potentially devastating blow to the Knicks as they head into the final month of the season fighting to hang on to the eighth and final playoff spot. Stoudemire was not with the Knicks last night as they won a critical game against the ninth-place Milwaukee Bucks. Instead, he flew to Miami to get a second medical opinion.
"Amar'e is a big part of what we do," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said when asked about the impact of Stoudemire's absence. "All we can do is hope it's not as serious as it may be and that he has a speedy recovery."
