Lemme break this down and hopefully keep this as collected and short as possible.

Also check out some PRIDE events. You should start from PRIDE Shockwave 2005 and watch all the way to PRIDE 34, that way you get a chance to see most of the big names in JMMA and you can also see what went down until their last show.

The only big name you'll be missing in those shows from PRIDE is Kazushi Sakuraba who's probably the biggest name in JMMA history, but for Saku, I recommend you check out these fights:

Saku vs. Royler Gracie from PRIDE 8
Saku vs. Royce Gracie from PRIDE Grand Prix 2000 Finals
Saku vs. Renzo Gracie from PRIDE 10
Saku vs. Ryan Gracie from PRIDE 12
Saku vs. Wanderlei Silva from PRIDE 13
Saku vs. Quinton Jackson from PRIDE 15
Saku vs. Wanderlei Silva from PRIDE 17
Saku vs. Wanderlei Silva from PRIDE Total Elimination 2003
Saku vs. Ricardo Arona from PRIDE Critical Countdown 2005
Saku vs. Royce Gracie from Dynamite!! USA
Saku vs. Ralek Gracie

As you can see I listed all of Saku's fights against the Gracie family because it's one of the biggest feuds in the history of MMA.

Other JMMA promotions you might want to keep an eye out for are HERO'S, DREAM and Sengoku.

HERO'S is a promotion hardly anyone talks about now, but that was really good. They had some big name fighters like KID Yamamoto, Saku fought there, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Bibiano Fernandes and some good fighters like Hideo Tokoro, Joachim Hansen and Caol Uno.

Some HERO'S fights you might want to check out are:

Joachim Hansen vs. Caol Uno from HERO'S 1
Hideo Tokoro vs. Alexandre Franca Nogueira from HERO'S 2
KID vs. Genki Sudo from HERO'S 4
Hideo Tokoro vs. Kultar Gill from HERO'S 5
KID vs. Kazuyuki Miyata from HERO'S 5
JZ Calvan vs. Hiroyuki Takaya from HERO'S 6
Hideo Tokoro vs. Kultar Gill from HERO'S 9

Some DREAM fights to check out:

Eddie Alvarez vs. Joachim Hansen from DREAM 3
Eddie Alvarez vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri from DREAM 5
Hideo Tokoro vs. DJ.taiki from DREAM 8
Hideo Tokoro vs. Abel Cullum from DREAM 9
Bibiano Fernandes vs. Hiroyuki Takaya from DREAM 11

Some Sengoku fights to check out:

Jorge Santiago vs. Kazuo Misaki from Sengoku no Ran 2009
Masanori Kanehara vs. Chan Sung Jung from Sengoku 8
Hatsu Hioki vs. Masanori Kanehara from Sengoku 9
Masanori Kanehara vs. Michihiro Omigawa from Sengoku 9
Michihiro Omigawa vs. Hatsu Hioki from Sengoku 11
Jorge Santiago vs. Kazuo Misaki from Sengoku 14

There's a large variety of fighting styles. There's grappling styles like wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo.

There's striking styles like muay thai, kickboxing, boxing, karate and tae kwon do.

Most fighters mix more than one aspect of martial arts like BJJ, judo and muay thai or wrestling and boxing.

Most UFC numbers events are PPV and big events.

UFC on FUEL TV 7 and UFC 157 are 2 UFC events this month.

Bellator has events every Thursday on Spike TV, so you might want to check them out as they're fun and usually showcase a lot of MMA prospects.

Sorry for being so extensive, I've just been a pretty big MMA fans for year and enjoy discussing the sport with others.

Either way, that's quite a bit to read and watch, so yeah, enjoy, have fun.
