SAN FRANCISCO — The Dominicans eliminated the Netherlands on Monday with a 4-1 victory, setting up a championship matchup with Puerto Rico.

The game drew 27,527 fans, more than 14,000 shy of capacity at a park that regularly sells out for Giants games. But the Dominican fans were lively, blowing horns and banging drums as their team advanced to its first championship game.

In the fifth inning, the Dominicans pounced with one-out doubles by Carlos Santana and Moises Sierra, who had made a tumbling catch into the left field stands in the first inning.

Sierra’s double tied the score, 1-1, and after a groundout, Jose Reyes scored him with a single to center.

A wild pitch scored Reyes, and a single by Edwin Encarnacion made it 4-1.

In the final, the Dominicans will start the Twins’ Samuel Deduno, who made 15 starts for the Twins last season (6-5, 4.44 earned run average) and humbled the US in Miami last week.

Puerto Rico will counter with the right-hander Giancarlo Alvarado, who has pitched in Japan the last three seasons with a 3.53 E.R.A.
