Danny Granger done for season
Pacers forward Danny Granger has reportedly been making progress in recent days in his recover from a lingering knee injury, but he hit a season-ending snag Thursday. The Pacers announced that Granger has been re-evaluated and will require surgery to repair the knee, ending his season for good. Granger visited with surgeon Dr. James Andrews and surgery was recommended, as less invasive treatment options have proven ineffective. Granger will be ready for the start of next season, after appearing in just five games due to the injury.
Analysis: This is a surprising turn of events, as the team has given every indication in recent days that they expected Granger to return on their current road trip. Now, they will have to fight through the playoffs without their highest-paid player. Granger did not look right in his brief return in February, and the team never really seemed confident that he would be able to play a big role this season anyways -- now we know why. The good news is this is not expected to be a long-term issue and he has an entire offseason to recover, but he obviously has no Fantasy value his season. Granger can be cut in all Fantasy formats.
