I'd recommend being cognizant of when those situations are likely to occur. When you know it's a possibility to be back-tipped, be sure to keep your dribble in front of you while keeping that dribble as low as you can for the situation.

Also, when you know a defender is in hot pursuit, looking to back-tip and has a chance of succeeding, you can step in front of them to cut off their angle and momentum, sometimes even resulting in a blocking foul.
