Default Is running the number one way to lose bodyfat/weight?

What are some ways aside from running to lose weight or body fat in general..... I have around 12-13 percent body fat and i wanna get it to 7-9 percent.... i work out on weekly basis and also run but i keep gaining muscle but i don't look slim....which is what i want.

should i just stick to running and give up workin out for little bit?
