Default Kings land 7th pick in 2013 NBA Lottery

With coach Keith Smart representing the team at the NBA lottery selection tonight in New York City, the Kings drew the seventh pick for next month's draft.

The Kings have won the seventh spot five times since the lottery began in 1985, more than any other franchise.

The draft will be held on June 27, also in New York City. It will be the first draft under the new ownership of general partner Vivek Ranadive.

The Cleveland Cavaliers won the lottery for the second time in three years. The last time the Cavaliers picked No. 1, they selected Kyrie Irving who went on to win the league's Most Valuable Rookie Award.
