Default Charlotte Bobcats take Cody Zeller in 2013 NBA Draft

The Charlotte Bobcats tonight selected forward Cody Zeller with the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft.

An early entry candidate, the 7-0 Zeller was named First Team All-Big Ten and Second Team AP All-American in 2012-13 as a sophomore at Indiana after averaging 16.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steal in 29.5 minutes. He ranked second in the Big Ten in rebounding, fourth in scoring and fifth in field goal percentage (.562), earning First Team All-America honors from Basketball Times and Sports Illustrated. Zellerís other honors included a spot on the John R. Wooden All-America Team and Second Team All-America selections by the USBWA and the NABC.

Zeller, who played in 72 career games in two seasons at Indiana, is the schoolís career leader in field goal percentage (.591). For his career, he averaged 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals in 29.0 minutes.

As a freshman in 2011-12, Zeller was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Second Team All-Big Ten and Honorable Mention AP All-American, while also being named a Freshman All-American by Yahoo, Sporting News and the USBWA. In his first season with the Hoosiers, he averaged 15.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks in 28.5 minutes, while leading the Big Ten and ranking fourth nationally in field goal percentage (.623).
