Jan 3, 1993. Frank Reich comes in for an injured Jim Kelly and leads Buffalo to what is still the biggest post season comeback in history. 38-3 run in the second half and OT to beat Houston.
No idea what his stats were, but it remains to this day the most incredibly compelling half of football I've ever seen, and I'm a fan of neither team. Just the fact that this obscure backup could engineer an historicasl comeback will always stick in my mind.
FYI- while at Maryland in 1984, Reich came off the bench to drive a 42-9 second half vs Miami, beating the Canes 42-40. Until 2006 (when Mich St broke the record) he had engineered the biggest comebacks in the history of both NCAA D1 and NFL football.
