Before last season they traded a bunch of prospects for veterans and on paper looked like world series contenders.
But last season they were hit with every kind of ailment that could conceivably occur.
And this season they have 2 starters over 35 and 3 starters that have spent more time on the DL than on a major league roster.
I don't blame rogers for getting conservative with the funds. AA took a big swing and whiffed, he has rightfully lost some of the ownership's confidence.
I was happy with the moves last off-season, but with hindsight (something a GM needs to have) those moves set our franchise back. I think the original plan (build and develop the farm like TBay) was the best way to go.
