In the Derrick Williams draft, the Hawks wanted Enes Kanter. The Hawks offered Josh Smith for the no. 2 overall pick, and the Wolves said no.

    Rubio-Smith-Love-Pekovic

    Oops.

Not sure if I would have done that deal on draft night either, Williams was always talked of as a tweener but he also looked like he should develop into a better player than smith is. But in hindsight yeah terrible move.

he'll probably look prettty good paired with vasquez. which is good for the kings, since vasquez has looked like shit a majority of the games sans his automatic right handed floater.

however, we've all seen how williams plays when given minutes and is a 1st or second option. somewhere along the lines of 14 ppg and 6 or 7 boards. of course, that was him playing the 4 when love was out. im actually interested to see how he fits at the 3. but like some have said, hes pretty slow footed on the perimeter, so the kings would benefit from acquiring some sort of defensive minded 4 to help control the paint.

Should look to trade for Asik and move Cousins to his natural position PF.

and on the other side of the trade, why does minny do this? corey brewer has been great at the 3, and budinger is right around the corner from the return of his injury. maybe luc is strictly a back up 4 for love?

would be amazing to see cousins and asik together. two huge bodies that would clog up the paint from other teams driving. offensively it should work too since cousins is so offensively gifted. but hed probably shoot even more jumpers than he does now

Can't have everything plus Asik is a good offensive rebounder so that's fine

Budinger can play the 2 and Luc can defend multiple positions.

One of the better posts I've read in a while. So funny, but one of those "funny cuz it's true" moments.

Kings been getting ass raped in trades since they decided to give Webber up for "flexable pieces" it's about time we got a decent deal for once the way I look at this

    Best Case Scenario
He is the SF we are looking for and lives up to 3/4's of the hype coming into th NBA, we get a high draft pick and have a chance to draft Wiggins or Parker, that's great we can move Williams for something decent since he will have 1 year left on his contract....if we don't land a Wiggins or Parker....perfect we still have a capable SF and can draft either a PG (Vasquez is not a starter) or a shot blocker with potential (the Kansas) kid.

    Worst Case:
He can't play the 3 and is basically Patrick Patterson @ the 4, we lost two 2nd round draft picks.....................and gave ourselfs a chance of finding a potential gem..

Also the Wolves probably did this to keep Love as well since I'm pretty sure him and LRMAM are good mates from there UCLA days who know's maybe Kevin Love demanded this? Plus they need a elite defender and they want to make the playoffs now they were not using Williams anyway.

The Kings need a shooter to help space the floor.
Steve Novak to Sacramento for Travis Outlaw. Similar contracts.

So Moute becomes the Twolves defender? What happened to Corey Brewer? I thought they should've gotten any of Sacramento's 17 power forwards, they're pretty thin up front.
