Twin Peaks is absolutely awesome. One of my favorite shows ever. I'm not much of a fan of his films though.

Re: Is David Lynch the most pretentious director?
Let's turn this into a David Lynch fan thread because really, he's awesome.
Mulholland Dr. was fantastic. I liked Inland Empire but I can see how some people would absolutely hate it. I think I need to see it again to be sure of that though. It frustrates me that these movies have not (and probably never will) get region A blu-ray releases.

Re: Is David Lynch the most pretentious director?
I really love most of his movies, but I've never been able to sit through Inland Empire.
Peaks is awesome, but that's not his work alone, he had a lot of help making it what it was. Compare the movie to the TV show and you'll see what happens when it's just Lynch. I like Fire Walk with Me, but it has none of the warmth or humour that made the series great and the darkness is ramped up considerably.

Oh yeah, Mitch Kramer?

Terrance. F*cking. Malick.
No one, but NO ONE, has anything on this guy if we're talking about being pretentious.
