It was a game between North Carolina and Greek national team back in 1983. I would be shocked if there is any video of it. Even most NCAA tournament games were not broadcast then.

The NBA Finals back then were aired on several hours tape delay.

No, the NBA is the highest level of basketball in the world, therefore the Mavs are the world champs.

Players on that UNC team that played in the NBA included:

    Michael Jordan
    Kenny Smith
    Joe Wolf
    Sam Perkins
    Brad Daugherty
    Dave Popson
You're an idiot, those guys weren't pro's yet, the Greek scrub was.

No. Not better than Jordan. But back in the 1980s, the five best players on planet Earth were Jordan, Bird, Magic, Galis, Schmidt. That's not in order, but those were the top 5 players on the planet then.

    Galis was in that group.

Galis was NOT a pro player then idiot. Get your facts right. The reason Greece played North Carolina is because they were an amateur team. They did not become professional players until the 1989-90 season idiot.

The NBA is no way in hell the highest level of basketball in the world. The Mavs would be annihilated by any one of several national teams from around the world.

The Olympics/World Championship is a far higher level of basketball than the NBA is. The Mavs could not even stay within 30 points of any recent Olympic or World Champion team.

World champions. NBA = has players from around the world and IS the highest level of basketball competition on PLANET EARTH. Fact.

Enes Kanter is from a foreign land. Probably lives on the same block as you. Yet he wanted to come to America and play college basketball. Yet when that failed he declared for the NBA draft. How come he didnt stay home and play in the euroleague? The best of the best flock here.

The best of the best in America dont go to the euroleague. Fact.
The best owner in America isnt going to buy a euroleague team. Fact
The best european basketball player in the world isnt going to join a euroleague team. Fact
The OP will never give us a link. Fact fact fact!

BTW, lots of sports teams lose money. The purpose of a sports team is not to first and foremost make money. It's nice, and ultimately you want to, but if you want to make money and not worry about wins, losses, etc. - don't own a sports team. Also, most of the teams are mixed with other business, or conglomerates, like the Yankees also have Yes, etc. It's rare you get a clear picture of how a team does.

So saying Team X is more sucessful than Team Y because they made more money is stupid. It makes no sense.

The NBA is a lower level of competition than the EuroBasket. Enes Kanter was a scrub in Euroleague. He came to the USA to go from being a Euroleague scrub to coveted by Kentucky and the NBA.

USA/Canada does not = "the world"

    Please get basic facts right.

They're a national team, even if they weren't considered professionals, they're still a friggin national team playing a college team.

List of national teams that would beat the Mavs

NBA = highest level of competition on Earth. Players who went undrafted, were cut from rosters before the NBA season go overseas as a second option. No one leaves college after playing Div 1 bball to play in the euroleague and not hope they get drafted. No elite basketball player like Wade, Bron, Kobe, Howard, Durant, DIRK leaves the NBA to play in the euroleague.

Euroleagues get NBA leftovers, guys who want to develop their game and come back HOME which is America and try again in the elite bball league. Not the other way around. No one cares about your stupid lookin ball and court.

FIBA was not professional until 1989.

Spain, Lithuania, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Argentina, Brazil, Slovenia, France, Germany, Russia, Turkey - all of them would easily beat the Mavs.
