Being so far into the tax, the Lakers don't want to have to guarantee a probable project a large salary, which would end up costing big due to the lux tax.
The bad thing about that is that you don't develop young talent, which certainly is evident on our current team.
seems 2nd rounders were being sold as well. i thought the mavs traded down since only so many of the 1st round was guaranteed.
it goes more then just this year. i just remember phx selling all those picks to blazers in the past like why didnt the lakers buy some.
