We aren't talking about xanex and valium. Those are two of the most physically addictive drugs on the entire planet. I'm telling you right now... You DO NOT become physically addicted to cocaine.

addiction is primarily a mental disease... or atleast that's what I believe.
The physical part when strictly dealing with cocaine withdrawl is short term.
Charlie Sheen must of experienced hell the nights he had to come off his "Coke" high.

but He's got some mental issues right now... but for the most part he is normal.

I just find it hard to believe. I had a really good buddy that had to go away to rehab for blow because he just couldn't stop doing it. I used to use it back when I was 16\17 and at one point would crave it whenever I got drunk\was partying. Never craved it badly so I couldn't say myself If it was physically addicting or not but from what I've seen from others I'm not sure how he couldn't be physically addicting?. Everyone's different ton's of people who can choose when to use it and when not to(maybe sheen?) but there's also tons of people who want to stop but can't.

The insanity is where he claims he shows people magic and provides them with life changing experiences that they will remember forever, his brain operating on a level that isn't from this terrestrial realm, he has a different heart/brain/whatever, he blinked and he cured his brain, etc.

I completely understood what he was saying with the 'magic' thing... And, again, I thought he was completely right. The people that were partying with Charlie over his multi-week binge will remember it forever. They will talk about it forever. He supplied the kind of party that they will never see again. Life can be drab and predictable for the great majority of people.

That is what he was getting at. And, I can guarantee you, if I was at one of his parties, I would probably talk about it and remember it forever.

As for talking about his brain operating on a level... That is his shtick. At the same time, he is sort of right. Everyone wants these eccentric people to be 'normal.' He isn't normal... Never has been. Why should he start now?

Saying he blinked and cured his brain simply meant that he didn't have to buy into the AA cult or rehab in order to get off drugs... Which is the way a lot of addicts feel and have been successful in doing it that way.

Ohhh. I meant like physical = craving and those symptoms = withdrawls. Still I'd assume someone who uses cocaine heavily for a certain amount of time would have atleast the sleepless\anxiety withdrawls. Interesting to find out there's none.

I don't think he looks at it as 'relapsing.' Again... That is AA jargon. Will there be a time when he takes a weekend for partying it up with drugs and alcohol? I would be surprised if it didn't happen. And I see no problem with it if that is what he chooses to do.

Before recently, I didn't know a ton about him outside of the fact that he has been in some great movies, he is a talented actor, a renowned playboy and an eccentric. I didn't have a lot of the inside info on his life that we are getting now, so it is hard to say.
