The whole west coast hood movie thing was cool back then (we snuck into Menace SO many times, lol) but now that I look back on it they were kinda wack because of the way all the suburban kids took them and ran with them.

If I had to choose I'd probably choose Boys in the Hood because the film had better actors and Furious actually metered out a decent message.

Friday is FAR superior to Don't Be A Menace which was a hack job.

Boyz N the Hood, hands down. It felt more realistic.

MC8 and Tyrin Taylor aren't good actors at all.

Look at the two casts and you can see which film is superior really, lol.

Off the main three actors in each film, it was basically their first film give or take a few TV roles for Tate. f you look at their career after these films, than yeah Boyz N The Hood bu at the time, they were all beginners in this thing called movie production.

Cuba Gooding and Morris Chestnut and Nia Long all had acting experience (and of course Larry Fish) before BNTH....one might be able to argue that they each had EXTENSIVE thespian training.

True, but same can be said for Jada, Larenz Tate and Clifton Powell.

well,to me, its close but not as close as some of you portray.

Boyz N the Hood should be the majority opinion, I would hope.
