I don't know either. I think its a per games salary.

How much is the Max Salary for local players?
I'm not sure, but I think Danny Ildefonso earns around P300k a month.

Is there going to an Expansion team this year?
Coca Cola Tigers said they will sell their franchise.

1.By ticket sales sponsors, TV share which is why the PBA wants its own arena.

2.Imports get paid around $8k-10 for there stay here(2months) it used to be 15K I think but they reduced it.

3.Asi was making 500k before but i think there is a cap already

    4. Harbour City has petitioned itself for entry next year.

TALK N TEXT TAKES GAME 2

Cardona, Sullinger, Belano carry Pals to equalizer

    Sunday, 08 July 2007

Macmac Cardona delivered in the clutch when Alaska threatened in the second half enabling the Talk N Text Phone Pals to post a 120-113 victory in Game 2 Sunday and even their titular series at one game apiece.

The sophomore guard was at his deadliest in the third quarter, banging in 12 points, scoring each time when the Aces seemed to be building momentum.

    MILLER LEADS 2006-07 MVP DERBY

Season’s top performers honored on Friday

    Tuesday, 10 July 2007

Since being dealt to Alaska in the summer of 2006, Willie Miller's game has tremendously soared this season, making him a strong candidate to clinch his second Philippine Basketball Association Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy.

The flamboyant guard – winner of the coveted award in 2002 and a big reason why the Aces are in the Finals of the 2007 Talk N Text PBA Fiesta Conference – leads five other players in hot pursuit of the league's highest individual honor.

The charismatic Miller, traded along with forward John Ferriols to Alaska by Talk N Text in exchange for Don Allado and a first round draft pick, leads the list of MVP contenders that also includes Sta. Lucia rookie Kelly Williams, the Air21 pair of Arwind Santos and Gary David, last year's winner James Yap of Purefoods and Talk N Text’s Mark Cardona.

The league will announce the 2006-07 MVP before Friday's Game 4 of the Talk N Text PBA Fiesta Conference Finals between Alaska and Talk N Text when it holds its Annual Awards Night to honor the best and the brightest in the PBA's 32nd season.

"This is the time of the year when the PBA honors the best players who shone brightest in the season that is coming to an end," said league commissioner Noli Eala.

Miller was named league MVP in 2002 while he was still with Red Bull, the same team that made him the top overall pick in the 2001 Annual Draft.

Should either Miller or Yap clinch the coveted award, they will join the group of Ramon Fernandez, Alvin Patrimonio, William Adornado, Alberto Guidaben, Benjie Paras and Danny Ildefonso as among the few select players to have won the coveted award more than once.

Interestingly, Miller and Cardona, the rising second-year star who had his breakthrough career this year with the Phone Pals, are hotly contesting the Best Player of the Conference plum to be awarded before Game 3 of the Finals.

Miller and Cardona are also showing the way for possible spots in the Mythical Team selection together with Williams, David, Yap, Santos , Wynne Arboleda, Alex Cabagnot, John Arigo, Jeffrey Cariaso, Ali Peek, Jay-R Reyes, Eric Menk, Yancy de Ocampo, Dorian Pena, Jay Washington, Harvey Carey, Mark Telan, Nic Belasco and Ildefonso.

Williams, the No. 1 pick in the last PBA Draft, is also in top contention for the Rookie of the Year title which he will dispute with Santos, Reyes, San Miguel's LA Tenorio and Welcoat's JunJun Cabatu.

Cardona, who blossomed into a certified star in the absence of Asi Taulava, Renren Ritualo and Jimmy Alapag who are serving the RP Team, heads the Most Improved Player's list that also includes David, Red Bull's Carlo Sharma, Purefoods' Peter Jun Simon, Sonny Thoss of Alaska and Ginebra's Ronald Tubid.

Other awards up for grabs are spots on the All-Defensive Team and the Sportsmanship Trophy.

Perennial members Johnny Abarrientos, Jeffrey Cariaso, Enrico Villanueva and Junthy Valenzuela lead 23 others vying for berths in the All-Defensive Team while Cyrus Baguio, Larry Fonacier, Nelbert Omolon, James Yap, Miller, Thoss, David and Simon are the prime candidates for the Sportsmanship Award. My Suggestion on how the PBA Board Awards the players in the Big league.

I think some of us know that our beloved Mark Caguioa has no chance of winning the 2007 MVP Award because he missed the whole 2nd conference not to point that in our topic pero anu ba dapat ang tamang criteria sa pagselect ng MVP, Rookie of the Year, Mythical 5, All Defensive Team, Defensive player of the Year, Mythical Team, Most Improved and 6th man of the Year.

Eto lang po yung suggestion ng iyong abang lingkod na si Lebron23

Lets go first to the MVP Awards.

Who have been the best players in the PBA thus far? There are several different ways you could answer that. It's all subjective, but to help you out, we've compiled the top 10 players when it comes to PRA, the sum of your points, rebounds and assists per game.

In order to compare the raw stats with how these players affect the score of the game, we also show their Lenovo Stat, along with their league Lenovo rank.

Dapat ganyan sa tingin ko naman eh nung 2003-04 pa Deserving na mag MVP si Mark Caguioa ksi naman eh nag lead siya sa scoring, decent rebounder and assists man.

    2. Rookie of the year- I think we must base the individual performance of a Rookie instead of his team success meron na kasi mga players na hinde naging Rookie of the Year dahil yung team nila eh bumagsak.

kagaya na lang nung 1992 ng tinalo ni Bong Ravena ng SMB si Vergel Meneses pero Meneses is averaging 17.7 PPG.

Vergel Meneses was the top pick in the 1992 PBA draft taken in by the Presto Ice Cream (formerly Great Taste Coffee) franchise. At Presto, he played alongside 1990 Most Valuable Player (MVP) Allan Caidic, Chairman of the Board Abe King, many-time Mythical Team member Manuel Victorino and the late 1979 Rookie of the Year (ROY) and Mythical Five Member Arnulfo "Arnie" Tuadles. He averaged 17.7 ppg, 1.6 apg and 2.2 rpg in 39 games during his rookie year but he lost the ROY award to bossom buddy, Ferdinand "Bong" Ravena. But everybody understood that it was simply bacause Ravena's team, San Miguel Beer, had a lot more success than Meneses' Presto team. However, he was named to the All-Star team for the year and also won the first of his back-to-back Slam Dunk trophies.

I do not agree that the factor of a team success would hindrance an individual from winning an award that he deserve.

    3. Mythical 10- I think the Mythical team must base their awards at the stats of the player and the impact of the player in the league.

Sana rin per position talaga ang botohan and hinde yung mga players na nag adjust ng position for example Egay Echavez na natural PG pero naka 2 ang nilalaro position

    C-
    F
    F-
    F-
    G

Sa Mythical 5 naman sana yung 2 Best Player of the Conference eh meron automatic slot sa Mythical 5 at yung mismong position niya dapat ang nakalagay dun ng hinde na tayo magkaroon ng mga tainted MVP.

    4. Defensive Player of the Year- I think defensive player of the year must be base on the stats of certain players in the league like the League leading in BLocks Per game and Steals Per game, Sana makita din natin ang kaibahan ng great defender sa isang flopper or player who fake a charge na halata halata naman.

Meron isang tao diyan na nagsabi na ang Steals eh hinde part ng depensa because it is very risky hinde lang siya sanay magbasketball but Steals are important in the game than flopping around.

    5. Most Improve Player - This award should be give to players who have a major contributions in their team by virtue of a improving his stats and this player just excel in the different aspect of the game.

    6. 6th Man of the Year- Player who came off the Bench and contribute saka check din natin kung lagi nga siyang off the bench and hinde nag start this season.

    7. Comeback player of the Year- This award must be give to a player who have a leave of Absent in the PBA one or more Seasons.

    For Example

Rudy Hatfield cameback after a 2 yr. hiatus so deserving siya sa award na ito.

Samboy Lim- After his Knee Surgery eh nakabalik muli siya and pang ALL STAR Caliber ang laro niya.

    8. Sporstmanship Award- Gentleman on and off the Court.

    Any Comments feel to add.

    Thanks ;)

TALK N TEXT IN COME-FROM-BEHIND WIN, MOVES AHEAD 2-1

Aces vow to bounce back in Game 4

    Thursday, 12 July 2007

What a night for Mark Cardona!

Mark Cardona came to receive the Best Player of the Conference award and then helped Talk N Text pull off a classic act to surge ahead versus Alaska in their title showdown.

Cardona delivered his valedictory address in the form of a 20-point game and the Pals completed his day, hacking out a come-from-behind 95-87 victory that pushed them 2-1 ahead in the 2007 Talk N Text PBA Fiesta Conference best-of-seven Finals Wednesday night at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Pals came out flat but made a big turnaround in the second half, overcoming a 23-point deficit early on.

Talk N Text coach Derick Pumaren believes the tongue-lashing he gave his troops at halftime helped them win the contest.

"I was really pissed and fuming mad at halftime. Alaska showed they really wanted to win and we were not showing any resistance. I’m proud how the boys responded," said Pumaren.

"I told the boys we have 24 minutes to turn it around. They did it in 12 minutes," Pumaren added.

James Sullinger scored 12 of his 30 points in the third quarter with Felix Belano and Yancy de Ocampo adding six and five, respectively, as the Pals made a big run to overhaul a 40-56 halftime deficit.

Down by only one, 67-68, at the end of the third, the Pals sustained their charge in the payoff period as they duplicated the Aces’ Game One victory.

"They turned things on us. They did a good job of coming back and not quitting," said Alaska coach Tim Cone.

"We missed two gimmes and two free throws at the start of the third and that became the turning point. That started their run and that hurt us," Cone added.

Cone, however, made an assurance they would learn from their mistakes and they would come back in Game Four Friday in the same venue.

Trailing most of the way, the Pals surged ahead for the first time at 75-74 on a teardrop shop by Cardona with 7:17 left to play.

Cardona would score six straight points later on, then Belano followed those up with a trey as Talk N Text all but settled the outcome of the game at 92-83.

"I talked to Macmac at the half. I pointed out to him that he’s being terribly outplayed by Willie Miller. He’d just beaten Miller for the Best Player of the Conference honors and I told him he has to prove he deserves the award," said Pumaren.

Miller finished with a personal conference-high 29 points that went for naught.

Rosell Ellis came out strong, firing 19 points in the first half but added only three in the final half. (NC)

    The scores

    Talk N Text 95 – Sullinger 30, Cardona 20, Belano 14, Carey 11, Washington 9, De Ocampo 7, Allado 2, Pablo 2, Billones 0.

    Alaska 87 – Miller 29, Ellis 22, Cortez 16, Hugnatan 7, Thoss 6, Belasco 4, Laure 2, Ferriols 1, Singson 0.

    Quarterscores: 15-30, 40-56, 67-68, 95-87.
