Was it against Euroleague competition? If it wasn't, then no one cares. A guy putting up 24 and 10 in the D-League is not impressive. Why would it be any different in inferior leagues like Eurocup or Eurochallenge?

The only pro league that matters outside the NBA competition wise is the Euroleague. Unless an NBA player is playing in this league, you shouldn't bother posting stats.

I am from Europe, everyone knows the best players are in the NBA... it is obvious players coming from the NBA may initially at least be less effective that usual, as they have to adapt to the differing rules on contact etc.

Sounds like a great vacation, right? See the sights, try local food, experience a new culture. And hey, play some basketball with guys who aren't even in your league. You can drop 40 a game if you really want to, but you won't, because you're a guest in their country.

Turns out it's not quite that easy for Deron Williams with Besiktas in Turkey.

Williams led Besiktas into the EuroCup last week, which is a second tier tournament that took place in Belgium, and he had 7 points on 3 of 13 shooting with 6 turnovers. The man who should dominate at this level watched his team get eliminated fast.

    Days before that in D-Will

You got it wrong. Even Deron putting up those numbers in Euroleague, it does not even matter. The only reason I am putting up those numbers is to counterpoint how DWill is adjusting to European style of which he struggled at the beginning as he came out of shape.

There are just too many scrubs and NBA dropouts who thrived and made some noises in Euroleague and they were afterthoughts.

The bottomline is a players worth will be measured against the best players and best competition and that is NBA.

If DWill is getting paid while he's messing around and rounding into shape then more power to him.

There have been a lot of scrubs and NBA dropouts who haven't done anything in Euroleague or Europe. What's your point?

Williams' struggles thus far prove that the Euroleague is quality competition. It may not be on the level of the NBA, but it's getting there.

It was a friendly game genius. An unofficial practice scrimmage.

He has only played 2 actual games. Not one of the games you are citing were real games.

How many times I gotta tell you none of his Euro games are real. Just like Ice Cube say, he was just messing around and will get a triple double. ha ha ha.

Deron Williams is getting paid while working out and rounding into shape. FTW.

Euroleague is the 2nd best competition as far as leagues but I see more raw talents in NCAA.

If an NBA dropout cant play in Europe then they need to find another way of living, simple as that.

Williams didn't even get past Manztaris, a 21 year old 3rd string point guard of Olympiacos. He was struggling to even score against him.

He had to get his offense against 20 year old 4th string Olympiacos point guard Katsivelis.

The standard of NBA only fans for American NBA players "dominating in Europe" = scoring points against a 4th string 20 year old point guard (Katsivelis) in a FRIENDLY practice scrimmage.

According to NBA only fans that = even GOAT status in European basketball history.

This is such a comedy that it's almost too bizarre to even comprehend just how insanely delusional NBA only fans really are.

What's really hilarious though is that not one of you NBA only fans has the IQ to grasp that official Euroleague games are coming soon, with numerous NBA players playing in them. You seem to not even grasp just how much your delusional world is about to crumble.

DWill was having his way against those Olympiakos. He struggled against Americans but put those Euros on him, he will be man among boys.

Who cares about Euroleague games, Tony Parker was torching everyone at Eurobasket and did not even bother. Good thing VSpan punked out, he would be a victim as well.

Katsivelis is 20 years old and a 5th string PG of Olympiacos. That's who Williams scored almost all his points against. In a FRIENDLY game.

And no one in Europe cares about NBA games.
