I look at chicks with dreadlocks as societal failures.

    Men too actually.

Some of those aren't dreads man

If you hair is still in stringy single strands you are not dreaded up.

    Lol@growing dreads naturally.

The key to having dreads is nappy hair which is why I don't understand why people with straight hair try dreads it looks really bad in most cases.

ALL hair knots up on it's own. Even straight hair, it just takes longer. If you have long hair and you don't brush it, knots form and eventually turn into dreads. Some people stay on top of separating them, which leads to cleaner, neater locks. Some people just let it go and have a messier look.

Natural is the way to go. You can't "create" dreads, you grow them.

Yeah whatever man. Dreads work naturally with naturally natty nappy hair. white people have to TRY and make it clump together which is why you think "Natural dreads" is a big thing.

    This is incorrect.

Nappy hair knots up almost instantly, as it is already knotted. You got that part right.

White people do not have to "try" or "do" anything to grow dreads. It just takes time.

Many white people DO try and create dreads but they can be grown completely naturally.

Keep telling yourself that. When whites just "do nothing" to create the dreadlock action it looks silly and isn't technically dreaded in my book.

And Im' speaking of the binding action of nappy hair. All you have to do it twist it to help it along the way and it dreads naturally. The whole concept of dreads is natural which is why the title to this thread is misleading.

You can't argue with fact. All hair knots up, therefore becoming dreads.

dreadication, and that longest one looks like it's folded up or it would probably be dragging on the ground.
