Room temperature is the best.

I read that this is a good thing though. You can lose 5 lbs a year by drinking cold water just by the extra energy your body has to exert to warm it up.
Either way the benefit/drawback is pretty marginal.

I prefer room temperature water as far as a thirst quencher.
I will drink cold water too cool down but will drink room temperature after the cool down.

well that's fully consistent with what i've read. i.e., the principle can be used in different ways.

it's marginal, but just going by my experience, it IS a stressor. for example when i'm in an air conditioned restaurant drinking the ice water they typically bring, it can sometimes be quiet unpleasant. i almost have to battle my body to get it down to quench my thirst, and one thing i've learned is that noticing what the body and mind are feeling is a really good principle for maintaining health.

I get water with no ice in air-conditioned restaurants. Sometimes it's still pretty cold without the ice, but it helps.
Cold water is great for hot days and warm tea is good for cold days though to normalize body temp. That refreshment feeling is a sign that it's doing your body good.

Very good NBA starter

Are you implying that tap water bacteria levels are affected by how you turn the handle on your faucet?

NBA rookie of the year
Re: Do you drink water warm?
I prefer cold, but when I'm in Southeast Asia I drink it at room temperature, because I have no choice. There is not air conditioning or fridges up in the mountains.

Do I prefer cold water? Of course, but it's not that big of a deal.
I think that's a symptom of diabetes...
