making 25 million in houston is actually alot more than making 25mil in NY. living expenses, taxes, and etc. and houston has a strong chinese fan base. he will have no problem being a marketing machine if he continues to play well. and you bet Lin has a chance to shine in rockets more so than NY because let's face it. knicks are melo's team. i don't know if Lin can thrive with Melo & amare.
and don't forget Lin is a strong christian. maybe he is kinda tired of NY media.
lin isnt chinese

I like this article by Aldridge. He's right. If Lin sucks, then trade him in his third year or they can waive him and stretch out his contract.
If he's good, then he is worth the money.
2 years at 5 million per season for a starting point guard is a bargain. It isn't good value; it's excellent value.
If he is a star player, then keep him in his third year. If not, trade or waive him.
well, the issue is he counts as a cap hit of 8 mil each of the seasons for the rockets. so, not really a bargain, but not much of an overpayment either. and that makes the stretch dumb for them the last year, since its only 8 odd million.

Shame, that 30 million Knicks have to pay in year 3 was too much.

the font style is somewhat reminiscent of chinese characters. that, and clutch has slanted eyes.

We're forver cursed.
That's the thing that really bothers me about this. They have two seasons to figure out what to do with the 2014-15 contracts.
Amare and Chandler will be 32 years old on the last year of their contracts.
Melo will be 30 and has a player option that last year.
They also have the option to let Lin go after two years.
They have the option to trade or cut Melo, Amare, Chandler and/or Lin before 2014-15 season starts. They can easily have all 4 for the next two seasons.
Let's be honest, money isn't the issue here. It's egos and locker-room politics.

From the Rockets point of view, 8 million is ok.
From the Knicks point of view 5 million for two years is excellent value. Again, if he is good, keep him. If not then waive him or trade him in year three.
Now the Knicks don't have anyone who can push the tempo.

Totally.
Amare and Melo know that if Lin is there, then in the third year one of them would get traded. Lin will be entering his prime, Amare and Melo will be leaving their primes.

Yes.
Come on, man. You know this. Design was put into motion as soon as Yao Ming was drafted and rolled for his 2nd season (IIRC). Look at the lettering and design.
