Mississippi State's shotblocking center Jarvis Varnado was voted the top defensive player for the third straight year. Vandy's John Jenkins was the league's top sixth man.
Wall lived up to his billing as the nation's top recruit, leading Kentucky to a 29-win season and the SEC championship. He joins LSU's Chris Jackson (1989) as the only freshmen to be named SEC player of the year.

Wall is so overrated. Dude cant shoot. Is a mediocre finisher around the rim. And isnt anywhere near as athletic as he's hyped up to be.
Those are the two things that pop out to me. He stalls in the halfcourt set. But his suspect touch at the rim will plague at the next level when finishing over taller players. You all act like this guy is 6'6 and it wont matter. The guy is shorter than Dwyane Wade with a broke jumper.
Not impressed.

still not sold on wall yet too.... hes going to have to be more consistent in the tournament to pull off being a #1 pick as an undersized 2 guard.

If Wall turns into a Rajan Rondo with the ability to shoot than he is not overrated. Rondo is a perfect PG other than his shooting.
Anyone else think this Celtics-Cavs game is gonna be a letdown after watching that last game? Sigh

Rondo is totally teh wrong comparison for Wall. its really more like Jamal Crawford with D-Wade potential.

This is all about Evan Turner right? Has nothing to do with Wall?

He's nothing like Hakeem. You just are terrible at comparisons and seeing things. Thats been proven. You're so high on Cousins you often say stupid things in spite to 1 up the Wall supporters. Why? Who knows. 3 sentences to show how he is a bigger Hakeem? But you would spend countless sentencves, posts, threads even breaking down Wall. Think about it, even tho THINKING isnt your strongsuit.

You obviousy only watch youtube. They have similar handles and have similar body build and that is where it ends. Jamal is a lethal scorer that when he gets hot can go off for 50 points on Dwyane Wade which he has done. Wall can't score except on fastbreak. The guy really does struggle to score in a set half court. Luckily the NBA is man to man and pick and roll, so wall will do well.
He isn't the best player on his team. He is a great role player for that UK team. If you put Wall with scrub players he isn't getting all this attention. Bledsoe and Cousins constantly bail him out game after game after game. They receive zero hype.
It really is amazing what flashy youtube high school clips can do for a player. The guy is not the next coming of anything, havent even seen 1 monster statistically game this year. I see him averaging 17 and 8 or 9 assists his entire career. He is the improved version of Rajon Rondo.

Totally agree with this post. I posted the same thing on this Board about 6 weeks ago and got pelted for it. I saw early what many are just seeing now. Wall has major holes in his game.
Can't shoot.... can't finish.... not as athletic as he made out to be.... turnover machine.... zero game in the half court set. I have been saying these things for a while now.
To use an analogy with football..... the guy is "punt returner".
