The girl in question.
The left one, before, is for swimsuit magazines.
The right one, after, is for catwalks.

I've never understood the uproar about this.
The fashion industry want a certain look. You are not it. Move on. Why do we need fake uproar about this whole thing.
"OMG she is a beautiful woman! How could this happen?"
Yeah, she is, but she isn't what is wanted in the industry she is trying to make it in. It is like an average joe trying to be put in a fitness mag just because he hit the gym for a while, got fairly muscly, but no where close enough to be put in the mag, and then complains.
Sorry, but you just aren't cut out for it.

Agree. My girlfriend has worked in the fashion industry in the past (and is getting back in to that field now) and they don't just want pretty girls they want girls to fit certain looks. A lot of the time for high fashion they are after more unusually pretty girls rather than standard hot girls.
I'm sure this girl could get work doing swimsuit shoots for regular catalogues and the like but it's a different world trying to get in to high end modelling.
And even if it is offensive to some people to want someone skinnier it's the companies right to ask that isn't it? No one gets offended when we say Raymond Felton got fat and needs to lose weight, no one gets offended when we say Porziginis is a stick figure and needs to put on muscle. If that's the requirement for your job and you can't fulfil then find another industry.
i think the industry puts unrealistic expectations on women and am all for magazines who are avoiding photoshop but at the same time lots of other mediums are doing this and it works in generating profits.
Also no one talks about how 90% of the male actors these days use steroids and then talk about how they went from thin to bulked in a month thus setting unrealistic standards for men either. There was a dealer a while back talking about how he had Hollywood clients (he strongly implied hugh jackman used him to go from skinny in one film to ripped for an x-men film) but the story doesn't get attention.

The one on the left is attractive. The one on the right has an eating disorder and needs treatment.

It obviously isn't unreasonable, considering how many people there are with the same body type as these models. It is reasonable and it is achievable for all women. The facts are it takes lots of hard work and dedication to achieve that body type-hard work that a majority of women aren't willing to do. So they cry victim instead to hope the meanie poo pictures go away.
