Default Who will these NBA studs resemble in the Euroleague? A guide for Euro-fans

A merry group of scrubs has happily migrated it's way over to Euroleague during the NBA lockout in an attempt to gain the superstardom they were unable to achieve in America.

Let us go through the list and say how their game will translate when they take their talents to Europe. This is a guide for European fans so they know what to expect if their team signs one of these NBA studs

    1. Jeff Adrien
    Benetton Treviso (Italy)
7'2'' Wingspan, decent defender (by NBA standards, elite by euro standards)
    Verdict: BRUCE BOWEN

    2. David Andersen
    Montepaschi Siena (Italy)
Big man with a decent shooting touch, not a strong rebounder or creator
    Verdict: DIRK NOWITZKI

    3. Hilton Armstrong
    ASVEL Villeurbanne (France)
Legit 6'11, average athleticism (elite by European standards)
    Verdict: BILL RUSSELL

    4. Nicolas Batum
    Nancy (France)
Tall, huge wingspan, bad shooter, great defender
    Verdict: SCOTTIE PIPPEN

    5. Jordan Farmar
    Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel)
Elite athleticism by European standards, can drive, dish and shoot, pretty much the complete PG by European standards
    Verdict: CHRIS PAUL

    6. Ersan Ilyasova
    Anadolou Efes (Turkey)
Big guy shooter, strong on the boards, shown some ability to put the ball on the floor
    Verdict: KEVIN DURANT

    7. Nenad Krstic
    CSKA Moscow (Russia)
Soft, shooter, average defender, however by European standards he is a strong defender with great leadership ability
    Verdict: KEVIN GARNETT

    8. Acie Law
    Partizan (Serbia)
Speedy dribbler, ability to penetrate, not the best passer or shooter (elite though by European standards, he is used to a longer 3 afterall), however this shouldn't be a problem, neither is Teodosic and he dominates
    Verdict: PETE MARAVICH

    9. E'Twaun Moore
    Benetton Treviso (Italy)
    .....
    Verdict: WHO?

    10. Timofey Mozgov
    Khimki Moscow (Russia)
Big and tall, shows some semblance of a low post game, legit 7 footer, rare for the European game
    Verdict: TIM DUNCAN

    11. Chris Quinn
    Khimki (Russia)
Quick, decent handles, ability to pull up, a willing passer, will make a lethal combination with Mozgov, similar to how Shaq and Kobe were in their dynasty days.
    Verdict: STEVE NASH

    12. Mustafa Shakur
    Pau-Orthez (France)
    ..
Verdict: CAN'T LIE THIS GUY WILL SCRUB IT UP IN EUROPE TOO

    13. Darius Songaila
    Galatasaray (Turkey)
The greatest Lithuanian player of his generation, this decidedly average center will feel right at home in the European game as his overall mediocrity will become an asset, not a hindrance.
    Verdict: BILL WALTON

    14. DaJuan Summers
    Montepaschi Siena (Italy)
Another guy who playing in Europe will really bring out his qualities. He has ok handles, ok size, ok passing and ok scoring ability. He is only lacking on court leadership and ability to take over in crunch time.
    Verdict: LEBRON JAMES

    15. Garrett Temple
    Casale (Italy)
A decent guard with size who shot 43% from 3 one year with the Spurs. He will easily be able to exceed that in Europe playing against smaller shooting guards.
    Verdict: RAY ALLEN

    16. Sasha Vujacic
    Anadolu Efes (Turkey)
Ability to pull up from anywhere, amazing size for a European guard, decent handles (elite by Euro standards). Also has a tendency to whine and whinge.
    Verdict: TRACY MCGRADY

    17. Sonny Weems
    Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania)
Amazing athlete (even by NBA standards) who can drive, and decent handles but a horrible shooter. Look for him to instantly become the best player in Lithuania.
    Verdict: DWAYNE WADE

    18. Deron Williams
    Besiktas (Turkey)
A genuine NBA elite star, I can't even imagine the horrible things Deron will do to the "elites" of the European game. I think they will have to change the rules so that whenever Deron is on the floor his team can only play with 4 men, to make it fair for the opposition.
Verdict: ALL THE TALENT IN THE MONSTARR'S BALL TRANSFERRED IN TO ONE PLAYER

So there you have it European fans, a helpful guide to understand your new batch of NBA imports

Look everyone! IN the 2000/2001 Euroleague season, this guy Nate Huffman out of University of Central Michigan was apparently good enough to win Euroleague MVP thus making him the best player in Europe!
