It's also one of the most disturbing movies I've seen lately. Very good but so damn tough to watch. I like how you pretty much know what happens at the start and it's all just a build up to it. Then the movie punches you in the gut with one additional scene (that I didn't see coming). It was a crime that Tilda Swinton not only didn't win an Oscar for this, she wasn't even nominated.
Throughout the film during the scenes of her current life I kept wondering where her husband and daughter were, but I was totally not expecting that scene at the end, it was extremely, extremely sad. I think Kevin did what he did because he wanted his mom to be the only one to have to go through the aftermath of his crimes and to be ostracized within the community.
