How much is NBA ring worth?

I just cracked a joke in another thread about it but seriously, what is the worth of an NBA ring?
Obviously, there's a great deal of sentimental value to it but besides that, just technical stuff, karats and all, how valuable is it?

Anyway, it's a lot cheaper than I expected, honestly.
I mean, 7k, even 15k...yeah it's a lot but not exactly outrageous or anything.

I mean, Kobe bought his wifey a 4 million dollar ring so compared to that, the NBA rings looks like some kids science fair project or something.

I'd expect it to be at least like 50k.

Thats one of the reasons why players want to win championships. in case they go broke after retirement, they have something to fall back on.

Yeah well, realistically if you were going to sell one, I think you could cover 2, maybe 3 yearly salaries. That is average middle class salaries, I think.
Certainly great for someone in dire need of cash.

But how stupid one would need to be to go broke after the career in the NBA?
I cannot even imagine.

Rings are so ****ing nice.. plus they give the players a sense of accomplishment for playing and going to practices all year... also it gives them a big pride for being nba champs.

I only went by the Spurs raffle information, it could be higher.. but I know that there's people that would buy one for upwards of $50k, no matter how much it's 'worth'.

Hopefully most NBA players wouldn't be stupid enough to get in debt in the first place. Yes I guess it's some sort of cushion to fall back on by selling it, but I would hate to have to do it.

Jordan's 1998 ring should gather $10 million+ easy.
