What's the purpose of the all defensive teams? Are they given an award? I know it might be dumb to ask but I just don't put too much stock in the all defensive team crap

Lebron's defense on al jefferson in 4th quarter of jazz game was good enough to get him to first team.I think a lot of coaches showed that defense by lebron to their players to tech how to play defense against a player 2 inches taller than you. Lebron has done this to dwight and pau too.
His ability to play defense without reaching in is a great asset in today's league.

So let me get this right Ibaka who can't defend any decent bigman one on one to save his life and requires double and triple teams to have any impact made the first team?
Is this serious? He's had no defensive impact when it matters most and hes getting eaten alive by Gasol and Z-Bo on a regular basis. Wtf are people watching?

I think at the end of the day these coaches are just as easily manipulated as average fans, media hype and opinion has as much effect on them as any other person. I mean most of them weren't even players, how much do they really know about actual basketball. They are like motivators/adult babysitters basically. Originally Posted by andremiller07
