Actually they don't. Upper class /middle class black and upper/middle class whites show the greatest divergence in IQ scores of any class. And Asians still score higher even if they are raised by adopted families.

I also believe that West African's do tend to have greater fast twitch muscle fibers and other abilities that help them run faster and jump higher. Which helps them in sports like basketball. They don't however have slow twich muscle fibers, and have lower aerobic capacity. Which hinders them in distance events. No West African has ever faired well in a long distance event in the Olympic Games. East Africans, however, like Kenyans are known to have long and lean bodies and are perfectly suited for distance running. But no east African has the explosive and fast twitch muscle fibers of west africans.

Whites otoh, dominate at sports that require both muscle mass and aerobic capabilities. Such as wrestling, cycling, swimming, skiing , skating and all around events like the decathlon.

Of course a lot of it is cultural as well. Communism seems to produce the best athletes. The top nation in the history of the Olympic Games is the USSR with China the new top dog on the block.

So yes, there is a stereotype with evidence that backs up that whites can't on average keep up with west africans in jumping and running ability. Just as their is evidence that blacks aren't as intelligence as whites. But these are averages...you can't judge someone based on a stereotype and you have to look deeper and see if they live up to it. Not every black person is stupid and not every white person can't jump.

Neil Degrasse Tyson being a perfect example of a very smart black person. And Joe Alexander or Victor Claver being an example of a white person who can jump pretty damn high.

That's because they have government run Olympic programs with the goal of getting as many medals as possible. East Germany did very well at the Olympic games for the same reason. If you look at the most recent Olympic games, China won almost every competition involving obscure women's sports.

There is definitely some truth to that. A lot of it also has to do with training the kids in special communes since they are able to walk.

The USSR dominated in everything. From Track and Field to wrestling, gymnastics, boxing, hockey, weightlifting and even stole a few gold medals from the Americans in basketball.

And the rest of the winter sports...forget it.. USSR crushed.
