Lebron might have to be up there. He has stats comparable to any top 5 player in history of the game but his ring count stands at only 1, not in the same stratosphere as the rest of top 10 players. shows the disparity between his statistical output and championship contribution. that's the defintion of empty stats

LeBron's career isn't over, Stephen Hawking
And he was a one-man show most of his career, didn't have a real championshi caliber team until the last few years.

Allan Iverson I would consider as the king of empty box-scores.

Kevin Love (or rather Minnesota) has proven that he wasn't an empty stats player. His stats allowed Minnesota to win at least some games. Without him, they are the worst team in the league. With him, maybe 10th worst.

I would have given him the nod over Robert Parish, Pistol Pete, Dave Bing, Dave DeBusschere, Sam Jones, Hal Greer, James Worthy, and possibly John Stockton. When that list came out, his omission was a hot topic among the fan and media.

Empty stats is someone like Mike James or another role player putting up numbers on bad teams.

All those guys listed were fantastic players.

According to one of the analytics companies, SportsVU, Kevin Love is the hardest working man in basketball. He sprints the whole game. His stats aren't empty, he puts a lot of work into getting them.

So these should not have scored? That would have served their teams better? Fail

This myth needs to stop about LeBron's squads in Cleveland. Did he have a superstar co runner? No, but he had well custom built teams with appropriate pieces that fit LeBron's game, stregnths and playing style. Winning 60+ in back to back seasons wasn't just all because of LeBron.
