There's plenty of ammo against Weber as far as recruiting, but Gordon and Rose aren't it.

Rose all but locked up? Absolutely, positively, 100% false. Never at any point was this true. Rose was bought by adidas.

I think getting a guy like Quenton Watkins, a Top 100 player on Rivals, to commit without ever visiting, suggests that Weber isn't a terrible recruiter.

How good is Watkins? he is listed as a 6 foot 3 small forward. how desperate is weber getting? he's dipping his hand far into the ghetto now. Weber sure can recruit Compton, CA, can't he?! in a year this Compton thug will be breaking into cars and stealing stereos, watch.

Weber sucks at recruiting. This is a fact. If your Derick Rose or Eric Gordon, why wouldn't you want to go to Illinois? You play under a coach with a track record of victory and developing NBA players, and you get major media attention. It practically sells itself. Only a complete fuuuuuckup could blow as many recruiting oppurtunities as he did.

Are you guys both completely oblivious to how those 2 ended up being recruited?
Derrick Rose was bought by Adidas and had to go to an Adidas school. Simple as that.
Eric Gordon had always liked Indiana more than Illinois. Once Sampson was hired and he hired all Gordon's old coaches and his dad's friends, he was obviously going to Indiana. Weber had the kid commited, it wasn't his fault that Sampson was a snake.

Does anyone else have anything to say other than that Weber stinks at recruiting? This is getting ridiculous. Obviously we missed out on some recruits, but the team is still competitive and doing relatively well without top flight recruits. But no, lets harp on how we missed out on Eric Gordon and Derrick Rose. Or even Sherron Collins, Julian Wright, and Brandon Rush.

That's more important. Nevermind that Warren Carter is having the season I only dreamt of, and may be playing better ball than James Augustine his senior year. Nevermind that Shaun Pruitt is slowly becoming a legit low post threat. Forget that Jamar Smith is on his way to have an outstanding college career and being called by many one of the best shooters in college ball. Not bad for a bunch of two to three star recruits right? 13-5 with solid wins over Bradley and Mizzou.... but none of you like to focus on what's happening, only what didn't.

I get it. Bruce isn't as good of a recruiter as his predecessor. But in all honesty, does it really matter when the team is still competitive and Bruce is getting the best out of these kids (for the most part)? According to everyone else, it doesn't. We missed out on Eric and Derrick, guys who haven't proved **** at the NCAA level. We may have an amazing tourney run and win the title, but everyone here is going to sit around saying how Weber can't recruit. Get a ****ing life and get over it. I'm tired of it.

Wow, we blew an 11 point half time lead. We are now down by 12 and they have all the momentum. Chances of a comeback are slim to none.

Tough loss...Chester Frazier showed some tremendous heart in this game. Made clutch free throws, back to back steals, but the rest of the team? Just not there. Brian still hasn't learned how to stay out of foul troublers and only shows

Team gets rattled to easily. The crowd really got under their skin and they played like they were down by 14 in the second half.

God damn it. If we want to make the tourney, we have to win the rest of the games and somehow beat Wisconsin.

Tough loss, you looked like the better team in the first half. In defense of Weber where has all of MSU's talent gone? I know Izzo can recruit, whats the deal? It appears Thad Matta is really taking advantage of no one else recruiting in the Big 10. You'll still make the tournament, I wouldn't worry.

I know we probably will. Just frustrating as hell. On a similar note, even if it were only for a short bit, Rich is finally playing well. Took some ill-advised shots in the second half, but nobody was really stepping up until Chester came in.

Warren Carter's play has toned down but he's still agressive, so I'm not going to get on him for that.

The team that takes the court every game is the team Weber wanted. It is weber's team so he should suffer the consequences of giving scholarships to such crappy players like Trent Meachem.
