yes, people that dont tip at restraunts are "the bad guy." Whether you want to admit it or not, its part of the cost of your meal. If you cant afford that, dont go there.

And no fast food places arent the same because people dont wait on you at fast food restraunts.

Now by all means, if the service is just god awful dont tip. But remember that tipping the regular amount isnt for exemplerary service, its for normal service.

Here's the thing, its their JOB to serve you. wtf? If we would stop tipping than the employers would start giving them normal hourly wages.

I give tips every time I get a haircut, go out to restaurants or anything else that needs tipping, im just saying I agree with Kizzle.

Why the hell should I tip you for something I can do myself? I can go up to the counter and tell them what I want and even grab my own food, thing is the restaurant pays the people to do it for me, I shouldn't be subjected into paying them for it.

I buy "Spare Change" from time to time and donate to organizations, but not the change-cup jingler. That's a different scenario though. If I thought handing a street beggar a few dollars was legitimately going to get him or her on the pathway to self-sufficiency I would do it. The problem is that large portions of the homeless population is the drug-addicted and/or insane. If I hand a junkie a ten and he uses it to buy crack, that's me wasting money, in fact, that's me making things worse through misguided good intentions. A waiter or waitress, on the other hand, may smoke some dope or do whatever drug on the side but normally isn't the kind of hopeless case we see homeless. Often, especially in the Greater Boston area where I live and work, it will be some college kid trying to pay their rent, or some single mother struggling to feed her kids. They are legitimately providing me with a service, and more than most any other profession, thanks to their truly minimal minimum wage, their ability to pay bills is reliant on how much tip I'm willing to provide. So I tip.

But like I said, if you want to be cheap, that's your business.

Excuse my ignorance, in what states do people earn 2.50? I'm a California native and servers get paid minimum wage here.
