Congrats to Wiggins. At least he gets to stay near his hometown. I wish him well at UMASS...do we play them btw? Oh well, he will sit out this year and then maybe we will play them in 2009-2010.

Good luck, Heather (Buck), as she goes for a spot on the U18 National team. Good luck, kid and welcome (again) to the UConn family.

We are talking about 6'3" Heather Buck from Stonington High in Pawcatuck,CT. She was Connecticut girls basketball Player of the Year last year. She is awesome. I can't wait until the season starts.

UConn women's basketball assistant coach, Tonya Cardoza, will be interviewing for the coaching position at Temple University this week.
Wow. I can't even imagine her not being apart of the UConn family anymore. I wish her well with the interview, but I don't want to see her leave the family.
Good luck, Tonya

Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Awwwwww heck!!! Things are getting interesting in Huskyville. Stanley Robinson is on the hot seat for academic reasons and Coach Calhoun wants Robinson to get it in gear or get to steppin.
Nate Miles, a 6-foot-7 swingman from Toledo, Ohio wants to come to UConn. But having been to five...yes, five, high schools and missing significant chunks of school because of transfers and dealing with his sister's cancer (I hope that she is well or getting better), is waiting in limbo because the NCAA has to see if he meets the standard requirements for attending college. God knows we can not afford to take a hit with our graduation numbers.
This is shaping up to be a fun basketball season in Husky Nation.

Well, it is official, Nate Miles is coming to UConn. A lot of people are going to question this move, mainly because of Miles' past, but I think that he will be a model student-athlete. Welcome, Nate to the UConn family.

Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
I think I heard Robinson might be declared academically ineligible, so Miles is important.

Congrats to Ray Allen. Even though I am a Western Conference fan, I am happy that Ray Allen is playing in the NBA Finals. Good luck, Ray

Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
With so many players leaving on the men's side, I wonder how will we manage to get eveyone on the same page and improve on our success from last season.
Kemba Walker brings a solid defensive mindset to the team, but will he start come off the bench?
Chukwuma Okwandu. What will he bring to the team?
Ater Majok. Will he dominate, like he does in the summer league. Or, will he become shy and let others take over once the season starts?
Scottie Haralson. He looks good on paper but will he take over in games?
Nate Miles. I don't know much about him, but will he step up and help?
Either way, this is going to be a fun and interesting season.
