Better than 2nd-4th year Shaq, actually. He thinks Pippen was better than Shaq in '96 as well. Maybe even '97.

I may be in the minority (and I hate derailing this guy's thread) but Mitch Richmond's style of play as a lead guy never equated to winning basketball to me. Originally Posted by Round Mound

He was then what Joe Johnson is now, an effective isolation player offensively but not the lead guy on a championship caliber team.
Don't think Spree was either as the lead guy BUT I think Spree is closer to what equals to winning ball games than Richmond was, mostly due to his energy and you know he'd keep you in a game due to his defensive tenacity.
