Spain have now lost twice in the tourney already...I would still back them to win it though.

What about Slovenia? They lost just against Spain and they lost against Spain by overtime. Yesterday they beat Lithuania for 23 points. Jaka Lakovič is the second PG on the eurobasket, just behind Parker. I think that in semifinal will be: Turkey, Greece, France and Slovenia. Maybe Spain or Serbia could suprise Greece or France but I am not sure. I am also suprised than a good performance of Poland and Serbia. Serbia will come in quaterfinal I think, and maybe with a bit of luck, they could come on the World Championship next year. For some of you, there`s Croatia a big favorite, but I don`t think so. Croatia is for me overstimated, like Spain. Spain has got big advantage by referee, separetaly on brothers Gasol and Navarro. The defensive players just touch Gasol and there`s a foul, but Gasol can play with soo much pressure and there will not be foul.
    My prediction:
    1. Turkey
    2. Slovenia
    3. Greece
    4. France
    5. Spain
    6. Serbia
    7. Croatia
    8. Germany

I am sorry for some mistakes in the "language", if there are some, and I think there are.

No one seems to notice Grece because their opponents weren't very good so far but they are playing well despite some key players missing.
Spain just isn't playing well at all, they were lucky to win 2 games, but they have so much talent, there's always the possibility they start playing at their normal level when it really matters.

France has steadily improved since the begining of the tournament, not the best shooting team but they have a chance.
I still think Turkey is going to win, so far they are undefeated and had some tough opponents.

You mind elaborating? So far they've been the best, no doubt. France, Greece an Turkey are they only undefeated teams but France and Greece were in horrible groups. Greece is looking like it's gonna lose to Russia. Turkey beat Spain, Poland (at home), and Lithuania.
Anyway from the quarterfinals it's all elimination games so any top tier team has a chance, and Turkey is undoubtedly top tier.

France won against Croatia, still not a great team but better than what they've faced so far IMO. They're starting to show some good basketball, both on offense and defense. Parker is excellent obviously, but so are Batum and Turiaf and Diaw is finally starting to play well.

Turiaf is especially impressive this summer, he plays with so much energy, great defense and rebounding, and is actually not bad on offense.

If they keep improving like that, they could very well win it all, who would've thought that possible just a month ago...

With the way Spain is playing and teams like Lithuania and Greece losing France have a good shot.

Many people are going to be very surprised by the high level of talent by some of the up-and-coming German players within the next few years. The popualrity of Jordan/the Bulls in the 90's planted a strong seed in the minds of many young athletes, (combined with the rise of Dirk of course) and now the talent is starting to show itself to others.

    Spain win 84-70

    Pau with 19 and 8

Spain need to beat Poland in their last game to be a lock for the quarter-finals.
