LOL. No matter what people say about Ibaka this seems to be the answer people give?

"Oh he grew up in a war-torn Congo? That doesn't make him tough."
"Oh he's a ****ing freak of nature and insanely strong and ripped? That has nothing to do with whether he could win a fight."
"Oh he's killed 62 ****ing people with his bare hands? What does that have to do with a fight against Artest?"

Tell that to the dudes who are saying Artest is stronger.

Ibaka does not look the fighting type to me. Never really seen him rage. You never know, though.

Ron Sr. is a Navy vet and a former boxer -- a one-time Golden Gloves heavyweight from Philly -- who put the gloves on his oldest as soon as Ron-Ron could keep them aloft. Ron Sr. says he prayed that sports might keep the boy from inheriting that Artest temper. It didn't.

Why are you so sure that Congo is a "tougher area"? Poorer, sure. Tougher?

What if I told you that Washington D.C. has a higher murder rate and crime rate than Congo. It's true. You're more likely to be the victim of murder and other violent crimes where Kevin Durant grew up than where Serge Ibaka did. Does this now mean that Durant would automatically beat Ibaka in a fist fight?

South Side Chicago also has a higher murder rate and violent crime rate than congo. Does that now mean that Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose are excellent fighters?

Lil' Wayne grew up in New Orleans, which has frequently been the murder capitol. Does this make him a great fighter?

Don't forget Steve Blake. He's from Miami, which again, has a higher murder rate than Congo. Would he whoop Ibaka's ass?

The Congo is a bad f*cking place, but Ron's from the projects. Both of these guys had to fight just to survive.

That being said...Ron's mental and there's no game planning for someone who is unpredictable AND out of his mind. My money's on Ron.

If you're just going to read the numbers at face value, you'd be right. Reality in that portion of the world is more complex than the numbers indicate. Suffice it to say that only a tiny fraction of the violent crime actually committed in the Congo is reflected in the numbers you're citing. Things are happening there that would make a hardended dude like Ron Artest quake in his Nikes.
