Favors averaged 9 pts 7 boards in 23 minutes a game when he got his last deal and got 4 years for around 50 million dollars. Where was the pay cut? Like Exum he was payed on potential.

When Gordon Hayward was in a Jazz uniform, the team relied on internal development of a young unit to become a playoff team. The Jazz chose to rely on the development of Favors and Enes Kanter over spending money chasing bigger-named free agents.
Let their best player go so Favors and Kanter could play!
In a league where momentum and health are so often intertwined, and are unavoidable risks, the Jazz willingness to gamble on their existing roster without adding external talent may not be a surefire bet.
Is stupid!

For all these reasons, I would implore the Jazz to give him a better bite at the apple. As a rookie, Bradley appeared in just nine games for the Jazz, spending the brunt of his year in the G-League. In year two, that needs to change. Even as the team keeps quality veteran players ahead of him.
How do you expect it to happen with Favors and Udoh back?
[QUOTE]And the team should give it to him. Great things happen in the G-League, but Bradley is looking like he

Grayson Allen is already looking like the next steal for the Utah Jazz. His game has been translating well in NBA summer league and it looks like he should be a legitimate contributor to the team very soon.
He's 23 and a first round pick. This should be expected. Steal?

The Utah Jazz have had a pretty conservative offseason thus far, but that is by no means a bad thing considering how successful the team was last year.
They got smoked by Houston. It's a joke to come back with the same team!
That may be a disappointment to some who enjoy the theatrics and drama of offseason shuffling. But for those who enjoyed what the Jazz accomplished in the latter half of the season last year, it should be an exciting fact. A Jazz team that appeared to be one of the most daunting in the league to close out last season has received the chance to run it back and give it another shot in 2018-19.
It's disappointing to those that want to see the Jazz go all in for the first time ever instead of treading water. You don't win titles with a team that's not better than others(usually)
[QUOTE]The draft is such a crap-shoot, particularly in the late first round, so time will tell whether or not he was the right selection for the Jazz. On paper, though, he makes a lot of sense. So while his attitude concerns affect the grade slightly, his overall skills and stamp of approval from Utah

The Warriors, the reigning two-time NBA champions, theoretically got even better this week by signing center DeMarcus Cousins, an All-Star the last four consecutive seasons. Cousins joins a dominant team that already features perennially All-Stars Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
I can see them getting worse with Cousins. They were able to risk it because even if they cut him they are the team to beat especially with Houston seemingly taking a step back and the Jazz not upgrading
The prohibitive favorite even before signing Cousins, the Warriors now are practically guaranteed to win a third consecutive title. Pretty much the only mystery is which day to hold the parade.
There's no guarantee. What if Curry had been hurt a couple weeks later this year? Houston had them beat before Paul went down. Lots can happen. You have to put your team in the best position no matter the odds. I thought the Jazz matched up better with GS than they did Houston and Cousins will leave the court distraught against Gobert as he always does. Too bad they don't have any shooting to keep up at the other end
Teams like the Utah Jazz, who are trying to build a championship mostly through the traditional route of drafting and then developing talent, do not have a realistic chance of advancing all the way through the playoffs. The fact is, the ceiling for nearly all teams in the league is second place.
They aren't trying to win a title. You don't bring back a team you know can't win if you are.

Rudy Gobert took home Defensive Player of the Year honors for 2017-18 and the Utah Jazz were second overall in team defense. Could the Jazz defense get even better?
You would hope so since offense is an afterthought
