I watch all that stuff to this day on Youtube. And none of its dated, it's all wonderfully original, talented, stimulating, thoroughly enjoyable entertainment. Classics! And there's so much access to it today!!! And nobody takes advantage. Honestly, in the words of Bill Waterson:

When you think about it, Miley is actually the winner out of all this. She's getting huge media attention. Might not be positive, but I'm sure that's the least of her worries. I don't understand why we continue to make these people popular. Guess it's some weird satisfaction watching people spiral out of control.

I thought it was a great performance. It may be a simple performance because all she had to do was dance like a slut but it was very successful. She trolled an entire nation and got people and celebrities to react.
