Michael Vick had awful receivers in Atlanta. I believe his last year there, he led the league in dropped passes by his receivers. If he wasn't the leader, he was close. If he were ever given a good set of receivers, I believe he would have put up amazing numbers, and had much better success.

The best thing is we haven't seen the best of Vick, he is a remade man. I could only imagine if he had a Vernon Davis at TE and at WR an Andre Johnson. Will the Pat Riley of the NFL please stand up?
Heaven forbid a coach try and get their quarterback to pass the ball on a WR dominated league.

Ok, admittedly that was an exaggeration. Matt Cassel will probably never reach that level. Pennington on the other hand has a lot more QB skills than Vick has ever had, had several seasons with an above average QB rating while Vick has had several below average QB rating stats as alluded to by RaininThrees and has never had a season of passing 3000+ yards.

Vick actually made teams win, you know brought the falcons within one game of the superbowl in 04. Beating GB @ lambeau. Stuff like that.

Pennington? Another unmemorable QB who couldn't move if the D-line starting shooting at him. Please.

Right Pennington who has a weak arm and has battled injuries in his career. Get real. What is Chad Pennington and those QB skills doing nowadays? Tell me. Vick has been out of football because of his stupidity. Chad is well, this is where you pick up and tell me.

You picking Chad Pennington over Michael Vick is moronic to say the least. Vick isnt gonna complete 65% of his passes and 4,000yds passing. But he is a threat with his legs and teams gameplan to stop him. I dont recall if there ever was a time Chad Pennington made defenses worried, conscious or had defensive coordinators gameplanning to contain/stop him.

Pennington had a noodle for an arm. He was a smart QB and made good reads, but he couldn't throw the ball down field.

Vick is only 30 years old and has his legs still. Unless he comes down with a lower leg injury like an ACL. He is going to have his speed until like 35-36 years old. That's still 5 or 6 more solid seasons he can add to his resume. He is passing better now than any time in his history.

John Elway didn't play his best football until he was 38-39 years old in 1997 and 1998 winning back to back superbowls.

And so was Crumpler...Branch was overrated anyway...Brady made him look good...Finneren was a solid big target..and they had OK RB's....Eagles WR's were garbage aswell...(Without T.O...Freddie Mitchell was num 1 WR., lol)

While watching this Jets/Pats game, I can tell you Vick is more accurate than Sanchez.

Vick is a quarterback, he wont take nearly as many big hits as a RB.

hes a scrambling quarterback. Now, I agree it wont decrease his longevity like a primary RB, but I think its pretty nuts to think that he will be an effective starting QB (without a drastic shift in his style of play) at age 35-36
