In the state of Florida, Adrian Sosa is without a doubt, the most dominant Filipino-American hoops figure in American college basketball as described by Balt Quinain Jr, Team Florida Basketball General Manager.
According to the article by Balt, Sosa's fans should make the most of what could be his last few days in Florida. After the NABA games in Toronto, the 6'0 foot point guard from Emory University (NCAA Division 3) in Atlanta will fly to the Philippines to take part in a series of basketball camps to be part of the prestigious Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Adrian, whose paternal roots is from Cavite, is more than ready to go through whatever hurdles that come his way. As a star point guard of the Emory Eagles basketball program from 2005 to 2007, Adrian is a seasoned playmaker. He has become a five-star general in the backcourt and has been pitted against the best of the best in American college hoops.
In one of his spectacular performances, Sosa scored a career high 28 points in a lopsided 78-61 win against the University of the South, hitting nine of 17 on the floor, and a career-tying record of seven triples. His 11 rebounds highlighted his first career double-double in that same game.
In a previous outing, Sosa exploded with 14 points to lift the Eagles in a 77-73 victory against Oglethorpe University.
The two performances earned Sosa the Co-Player-of-the-Week Award from officials of the University Athletic Association (UAA).
Sosa is ranked first among all UAA players in scoring, averaging 19 points per game. He also ranks first in the three-point department, averaging three triples per game. He placed 11th in three-point field goal percentage (43.3%) and is tied for ninth in free throw percentage (80.0%).
Prior to joining Emory, Sosa has also been a standout of the men's basketball program at Oxford College, also in Atlanta.
In 2005, he averaged 23 points per game as he led an All-Star Gainesville team to the semi-finals round in the Philippine Invitational Basketball of North America (PIBNA). PIBNA is an annual competition of Filipino-American basketball teams from more than 20 cities across the United States and Canada.
Last August 11, he led Team Florida to the Final Four of the Asian Basketball League in Atlanta where he averaged 19 points per game. Sosa also awarded with First Team Awardee.
On September 1 and 2, he along with powerhouse Team Florida 2007 will fly to Toronto in a bid to wrest the Open Division crown of the North American Basketball Association (NABA) inter-cities basketball championship.

The guy is actually pretty impressive unfortunately the Philippine has abundant of guard in their lineup. He can be a future playmaker for the RP National Team as early as 2010 when the team will make its goal in being the best team in Asia.

Re: Emory University's top gun Adrian Sosa set to make waves in the Philippines
The guy does not impress me. He has a slow release on hi jumper and he does not seem atheletic. He would have problems at the international and would probably be an avererage PBA player. like Denver Lopez or something.

He kinda has an awkward shot don't you think? And he kinda seems like more of a scorer than a playmaker to me. Honestly, I don't think he'll be as good as Jimmy or Willie etc.
