shorty doowop
the greatest rap verses of all-time
nas - one love, third verse
sometimes i sit back with a buddha sack
mind's in another world thinking how can we exist through the facts
written in school text books, bibles, et cetera
fukc a school lecture, the lies get me vexed-ah
so i be ghost from my projects
i take my pen and pad for the week
and hitting l's while i'm sleeping
a two day stay, you may say I need the time alone
to relax my dome, no phone, left the 9 at home
you see the streets have me stressed somethin terrible
fukcing with the corners have a n igga up in Belleville
or h.d.m., hit with numbers from 8 to 10
a future in a maximum state pen is grim
so i comes back home, nobody's helping shorty doo-wop
rollin two phillies together in the Bridge we called 'em oowops
he said, "Nas, n iggas could be bustin' off the roof
so i wear a bullet proof and pack a black tres-deuce"
he inhaled so deep, shut his eyes like he was sleeping
started coughing when i peeked to watch me speak
i sat back like the mack, my army suit was black
We was chillin' on these benches where he pumped his loose cracks
i took an l when he passed it, this little bastard
keeps me blasted he starts talking mad shiet
i had to school him, told him don't let n iggas fool him
'cos when the pistol blows that's when a murder be the cool one
tough luck when n iggas are struck, families fukced up
could've caught your man, but didn't look when you bucked up
mistakes happen, so take heed never bust up
at the crowd catch him solo, make the right man bleed
shorty's laugh was cold blooded as he spoke so foul
only twelve trying to tell me that he liked my style
then I rose, wiping the blunts ash from my clothes
then froze only to blow the herb smoke through my nose
and told my little man that i'm a go cyprose
there's some jewels in the skull that he can sell if he chose
words of wisdom from Nas try to rise up above
keep an eye out for Jake shorty wop ONE LOVE

Re: the greatest rap verses of all-time
ye it aint hard to tell has gotta be up there.
alot of nas and az joints for me, rather unique is a awesome lyrical song
last vers of 2pac me gainst the world, inspirational verse
one of azs best lyrical songs, hard 2 pic a verse
At times i wanna watch out the Mariot, zoning on owning co-ops,
foreign drop top coups, and yachts guzzling straight shots a scotch,
formulating up plots ta escape from Salems lock cuz its scorching hot,
making it hard trying ta figure who's out ta trap me, Pataki, got all
kinds of undercovers coming at me, perhaps he, won't be happy, til they
snatch me, and place me where half slacks be, sitting in Catsaki, but
never me, see, my destiny ta be forever free, in ecstacy, on a hill
that awaits for me, so plus, just ta visualize is like a coke rush,
vivid enough ta make living this a must, plus this is real
No more cutting grams, and wrapping grands up in rubberbands, i'm a
recovered man, our plans ta discover other lands, suburban places got me
seeking for oasis, cristal by the cases, ladies of all races with dime
faces, sex on the white sand beaches of Saint Thomas, though this ain't
promised, I'm as determined as them old timers, I wanna villa in a Costa
Rica, so i can smoke my reefer and enjoy how life supposed ta treat
ya, laid in the shades of the everglades, finally forever paid, wearing
the finest fabrics tailors ever made, me and my team, carrabeans
forseen, i guess being down for so long i'm all in store ta see my
dreams
so until i see past the green pasture, me being supreme master, ain't
much more life ta feind after, but another chapter, a new way of life to
adap ta, cuz these streets a gas ya,and have ya caught up in the rapture
de ja vouz, i could vision my killa crew, more hospitable, consciously
aware plus political, cuz though they claim that every man created equal
whats his native people, find it harder for nights to sleep through,
but once established we living lavish, like the house of versi, paris,
i gotta have it, it so plus, just ta visualize is like a coke rush,
vivid enough, ta make living this a must, plu this is real

Re: the greatest rap verses of all-time
Nas' verse from Live at the BBQ.
Street's disciple my raps are trifle
I shoot slugs from my brain just like a rifle
Stampede the stage I leave the microphone split
Play Mr. Tuffy while I'm on some Pretty Tone ****
Verbal assassin my architect pleases
When I was twelve, I went to hell for snuffin Jesus
Nasty Nas is a rebel to America
Police murderer, I'm causin hysteria
My troops roll up with a strange force
I was trapped in a cage and let out by the Main Source
Swimmin in women like a lifeguard
Put on a bulletproof ***** I strike hard
Kidnap the President's wife without a plan
And hangin ****** like the Ku Klux Klan
I melt mics till the sound waves over
Before steppin to me you'd rather step to Jehovah
Slammin MC's on cement
Cause verbally, I'm iller than a AIDS patient
I move swift and uplift
your mind shoot the gift when I riff in rhyme
Rappin sniper, speakin real words
My thoughts react, like Steven Spielberg's
Poetry attacks, paragraphs punch hard
My brain is insane, I'm out to lunch God
Science is dropped, my raps are toxic
My voicebox locks and excels like a rocket
He was only 16 when this song came out.
Also like the whole B.I.B.L.E. by Killah Priest.
I really like this verse by Inspectah in the 7th Chamber
I leave the mic in body bags, my rap style has
The force to leave you lost, like the tribe of Shabazz
Murderous material, made by a madman
It's the mic wrecker, Inspector, bad man
From the bad lands of the killer, rap fanatic
Representing with the skill that's iller
Dare to compare, get pierced just like an ear
The zoo-we-do-wop-bop strictly hardware
Armed and geared cause I just broke out the prison
Charged by the system - for murdering the rhythm!
Now, lo and behold, another deadly episode
Bound to catch another ****in charge when I explode

Re: the greatest rap verses of all-time
Lets talk about the struggle, lets talk about the pain
Some people say they love you, but that don't mean a thang
Some folks is so naive, not me.. I go insane
Some people dap you, they hug you.. they do it all in vain
That's my depression talking.. maybe it's really real
Maybe them doctors was right, and maybe I'm really ill
See I can't really chill.. without feeling the guilt of me
Stealing these pills
Is anybody feeling me still?
(Shit) except for the hood.. nobody told me, I ever couldn't
Instead, I pushed.. back when they told me I never would
Looking at me, like I was just a crook
I express the hood, and what I see on the daily
My scenery daily
Task force... B & E's daily
A task y'all.. being me daily
They want to put, 3 in me nail me
This is stuff, you only read on The Daily
Had product, but ain't supply it then
High off more than weed..so the product just got me higher than
Product of my enviroment
Look-at-where-they-put-me.. and look where they telling me I gotta be
Stop and see, the robberies ..the poverty
Naw fam, its not for me
Its got to be, an opt atleast
Without-dudes-gettin'-chased-by police
So they gave us film, sport.. and the gift to make a hot CD
Back to the wall, against the ropes
Nothings believable, feezable.. they don't believe in you
You've been verbally beaten to
A pulse, so the result to you think nothing is reachable
Reasonable, I tell you dreams come true
Yeah haters, even YOU!

Re: the greatest rap verses of all-time
Inspectah Deck'z verse in "Triumph."
Kool Moe Dee's second verse in "I Get The Job Done."
Arguably Ice Cube'z entire IWAGD song.. just for that keen art of storytelling.
My homer pick is Eminem'z "Patiently Waiting" just cause he GOES HARD.
