Notice, his head is rim level and I am 100% positive he could get higher if he ran full speed and jumped straight up like he somewhat did here:

The man got his head rim level doing leaning, double pump dunks, some from the free throw line. But for some reason some of you think it was impossible for him to get his head over the rim from a running start, going straight up as high as he could without flailing his legs, w/o a ball in his hand? Just plain disrespectful.
What is it that you so called "knowledgeable" posters not understand about angles?
He was not even rim height on that play.

Jordan gets 2 inches above the rim on the free throw line dunk and visually I've seen him do it in game at least 6 times.

Jordan's vertical was viewed live on TV. Sorry I didn't record it. I remember it. Deion Sanders was the host of the show and it was his idea. Jordan had a 48" inch vertical. I've remembered it ever since I saw that show. Sorry if you need the internet to validate a fact. Unlike you, I understand that the documented information from the 90's and 80's is very very limited due to the fact that the internet didn't become truly popular until the 00's. Thanks for playing troll.
48" max vert.
Period.
You keep saying you've seen nothing but pictures of Jordan under the rim which further proves that you are blind or refuse the true facts.

Another article on Sports Illustrated said: "If they aren't smoked out at the pre-draft camp, padded heights get exposed at USA Basketball team trials. It was in the run-up to the 1992 Olympics that the world finally learned what the cognoscenti had long suspected -- that Charles Barkley was more like 6-4 5/8 than 6-6, and Magic Johnson closer to 6-7 than 6-9"

6'4" Jordan standing next to 6'7" Magic, (true heights):

If you want to argue that Jordan's max vertical was 47.5 inches, fine.
How does James White get his head as high as Jordan's? If not a little higher? He's 3 inches taller. Game over.
[QUOTE=bruceblitz]To further prove my facts about Jordan's height.
Gary Payton 6'4" tall, true height, standing next to Jordan, Jordan only looked half an inch taller.

Jordan is the GOAT dunker as well... he can get his dick over the rim and dunk his balls if he wants to.

Re: Michael Jordan ran a 4.3 40 yard dash, and had a 48" vertical!
Wasn't 48 inch though, Bruce.
Just add these few bits in...
"I've never had my vertical leap measured," says the child-pilot himself, "but sometimes I think about how high I get up." He, too, marvels at his gravity-defying feats, searching for an explanation. "I always spread my legs when I jump high, like on my Rock-a-baby, and it seems like I've opened a parachute, like, that slowly brings me back to the floor. I was really up against New York in our first game. On my last dunk I think I was close to eye level with the rim. Sometimes you just hit your wrists on the rim, but this time it was my elbows and everything. I almost overdunked the whole rim."
... "So many things have gone just right for him in his life—including the fact that he was not a spoiled high school superstar, that he was coached by Smith, that as a North Carolina freshman he was able to hit the jump shot that won the NCAA championship, that even though he rested his foot last summer and didn't work out, he reported to camp with 3.4% body fat and ran the mile in 5:22."
He's not an athlete to take lightly, by any means.
