Do NBA authentics have stitched on lettering?
How is the lettering done on the authentic NBA jerseys the players wear on court?

Cuz i got an authentic Sergio Rodriguez #11 kings purple away jersey from the kings official store for $60 and it came and the lettering is stitched on. I thot it was swingman jerseys have stitched on and authentic jerseys have like plastic lettering but im not sure

swingmans are mesh, whereas authentics are generally made of the shiny polyester. i don't think ALL teams have the shiny polyester though, i don't think the spurs do..

Swingmans are made of a lesser quality mesh, not to mention the numbers and letters themselves are cheaper. Plus, there's still screen printing on them for some logos like the one on the back neck hem and if a jersey has complex details like the yellow Cav sidestripe

okay, i'm not trying to rain on your parade or whatever,
but for $60, you usually can't touch an authentic jersey.
a 100% authentic jersey just like the players wear on the court will set you back anywhere from $150-$200 +.
you've basically got like 3 types of jerseys.
the cheap Replica. polyester/nylon slick material. screenprinted numbers and letters.

the Swingman

and then the Authentic

Re: Do NBA authentics have stitched on lettering?
gsxr explained it perfectly.
There's really only 3 types of jerseys (4 if you count real cheap knock offs from places like wal mart):
replica - cheapest. numbers/letters are iron pressed on and will wear off after a couple years.
swingman - these are real good jerseys, just not what the players wear. everythings stitched on. very close to authentics.
authentics - very expensive normally. most are above 100 dollars unless you get a great deal. exactly what the players wear.

Re: Do NBA authentics have stitched on lettering?
What you got was an authentic. Replicas has the screenprinting, Swingman has screenprinted tackle twill, and Authentics have stitched tackle twill. Swingman jerseys are not customizable, so that leaves you with an authentic jersey. Authentics are usually $150-200, but when they are $100 or less that means the jersey design is outdated or there is a surplus of size and/or inventory that must be cleared out.

Today's jerseys are stitched, older jersey's aren't.

Good deal i guess, glad i got it when i did, probably cuz kings are worse team in the league no one wants to buy those jerseys maybe, its just a purple away
