From what I have noticed, the ones that tend to do it the most are Koreans, Japanese and Taiwanese. I have asked my students before why they do it in every photo and none of them has been able to give me a reason. Just like how I can't explain why it bugs the **** out of me.

I hate when people take photos of themselves by holding their phone/camera in front of them, usually with the arm outstreched appearing in the photo. Mainly done by extremely vain girls.
