My list after Jordan:
2. Barkley
3. Olajuwon
4. Robinson (Underrated)
5. Malone (was top 3 in the late 90's)

Robinson. Shaq was also extremely good int he 90's. Hakeem was okay, but his stats weren't any better than Robinson's or Shaq's. Can't see why everyone's on his balls.

Re: Second best Player in the Jordan era?
The 2nd and 3rd spots are between Olajuwon and Barkley. Olajuwon was a solid scorer and an intimidating force on defense. If you take Barkley from around 1989-1990, you can make the argument for him being second. He was insanely efficient on offense and played great defense when he wanted to.
4th spot in my opinion goes to Malone. Great scorer, good defender, and didn't take plays off. He became even more feared once he developed a solid mid-range jump shot around 1993-1994.
5th spot I would say goes to Patrick Ewing. He was another beast on defense, great scorer, and clutch. The clutch factor is why I put him above David Robinson.
Honorable mention- David Robinson, John Stockton, a healthy Chris Mullin, Grant Hill, Scottie Pippen

I don't disagree with the players everyone is mentioning, but hardly no mention of Pippen? What gives?

Maybe Jordan?
Hakeem was the best. Than maybe Drob...maybe MJ for second best.
The truth is we will never know because we didn't have good stats back then to really track a players contributions.

I just had to quote this for comedy. David Robinson was better than Michael Jordan?

1993 Bulls W/ Jordan = 57-25
1994 Bulls no MJ= 55-27
MJ made a two game difference in the win column over his replacement Pete Myers ( A CBA player)
1996 Spurs w/ David Robinson 59-23
1997 Spurs no DRob 20-62
That's a 39 game difference in the win column...
that's 39 to 2.
Explain to me how MJ was even close to David Robinsons level?
